Seasoned Logs 1.2m3 Bulk Bag

1.2m3 Loose Filled Bulk Bag of seasoned Logs great firewood for wood burning stoves

Our quality seasoned hardwood logs have been naturally air dried for between 12 and 18 months to reduce the moisture content and are around 18%-20%, which is ready to burn and far lower than most, always check to see what moisture you are buying!

These logs are split to a length of 20cm-25cm, making them the ideal size for burning in your wood burning stove, pizza oven, chiminea and open fireplace. All of our wood is sourced from the south of England in the Surrey Hills AONB and is a mixture of hardwood which are normally oak logs, ash logs, alder logs and birch logs - buying this product helps support local rural forestry businesses to sustainably manage neglected woodlands.  Our aim as a business is to have all our firewood locally sourced from Surrey Hills.

We are one of London and Surreys' most popular firewood suppliers, our seasoned hardwood logs are never tipped on your drive. When using our firewood log delivery service, we deliver on our own trucks, 7 days a week and our customers pick 3 hour time slots, so that you don't have to wait in all day. Our Firewood is ready to burn. We use branded 3.5 tonne log trucks, these are Mercedes Lutons.  This means we can get onto peoples drives and navigate where larger log trucks can not get in. Our log delivery vehicles have tail lifts and our log delivery drivers can move these bulk bags over flat ground using a pump truck. We are based in Walton on Thames and supply the best firewood, no softwood here!

If you are familiar with buying a "ton bag", check with your supplier what the outside measurements of the bags are, as you may find you are buying 0.75 cubic metres, this bulk bags is 1.2 cubic meters.

If this bulk bag looks like its too much to unpack, then why not look at our kiln dried logs in nets by clicking here. Our Kiln dried nets are easy to move around and into storage once we have made our log delivery.

Why use seasoned logs?

Freshly-chopped wood has between 40-60% moisture content depending on the species. When burning wet or green wood the majority of the energy released is wasted evaporating the water in the wood rather than heating your house. Wet wood produces more smoke than seasoned wood and can leave harmful creosote deposits on your chimney or flue pipe. Creosote is formed when wood smoke condenses and attaches itself to the lining of a chimney before it exits the top of pipe. You should get your chimney swept regularly, twice a year, to remove excess creosote deposits.

What is seasoning?

Seasoning is the process of reducing the natural moisture content in wood, resulting in less smoke and a more uniform combustion when used as firewood. Seasoning is the traditional method for drying wood and can take between 6-9 months. The logs are stacked on a raised foundation in a clean, cool, dry and shady area. Air flow through the stack is the key to removing moisture through evaporation.

Where does your Olive Wood come from?

We source all of our olive wood from the Mediterranean. Olive farmers chop down the old olive trees as their productivity declines, leaving the productive roots to produce plentiful new growth or planting new trees to replace those that have died or become unproductive. Each year thousands of olive trees are left to decompose naturally releasing their stored carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere. Utilising these old trees as a source of fuel has a carbon-neutral effect on the environment.
