1m3 Bulk Bag Kiln Dried Hardwood Logs

25cm length Kiln Dried Logs, Silver Birch log and Ash or Oak Firewood log mix, same as 1.5 ton bags

Kiln-dried firewood is certainly the best fuel to use in your wood burning appliance or open fireplace. Our premium quality kiln dried hardwood logs are dried in a purpose-built kiln to reduce their moisture content to below 18%, often far lower. Once dried, we split the logs in a log splitting machine to a length of 20-25cm making them the ideal size for burning.

All of our wood is sourced from FSC certified forests and we use a mixture of silver birch, ash and oak in our 1m3 loose-filled bulk bags. Due to their lower moisture content, kiln-dried logs burn for longer than seasoned logs and have a higher calorific value. Our high-quality premium kiln dried logs have a calorific value of 4.2kwh/kg.

One of these bulk bags will fit into one a log store with the measurements of 1100mm x 1200mm x 635mm.

We make sure that all our firewood is between 5cm-15cm in width, so you will have a good range of sizes, smaller logs to start the fire and large logs to add once you have a nice hot fire.

A 1m3 bulk bag is 1000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm when filled, so if that sounds too big perhaps look at our nets of individual species of hardwood kiln dried logs by clicking here. These are easier to move around after delivery.

All our kiln dried logs are ready to burn and FSC sourced.

Why use kiln dried logs?

Kiln-dried logs are the best fuel to burn in your wood burning stove because they contain less moisture than green or seasoned logs. This means that they produce more heat and burn for longer making them more economical than other types of firewood. Kiln-dried logs will heat your room faster, burn with a brighter flame and produce less smoke than seasoned or green logs helping to minimise the build-up of harmful deposits on your chimney or lining system.

How do I light a fire with kiln-dried logs?

Use at least two firelighters and 5-8 pieces of kindling to generate enough heat to warm your flue. Once the kindling is burning add a couple of smaller kiln-dried logs - as these burn and create a layer of embers you can add a couple of larger logs. Reloading time will depend on the draw and size of your fireplace or wood burning stove - normally you will need to reload every 45 minutes or so.
